The GSO 8" f/4 Carbon M-R&P OTA is a Photo-Newton telescope designed for deep-sky astrophotography, combining an 8" aperture with a fast f/4 focal ratio. This configuration allows efficient imaging of low surface brightness objects with relatively shorter exposure times, which is beneficial both for mobile setups and automated astrophotography systems. The parabolic primary mirror and a well-designed optical path ensure good compatibility with astronomical cameras.
The full-length carbon fiber tube provides high mechanical rigidity and excellent focus stability under temperature variations. Internal baffles and a rear tube mask effectively reduce stray light around the primary mirror area, improving image contrast. The optical tube is equipped with a precision rack-and-pinion focuser with microfocuser, compatible with electronic focusing systems such as the ZWO EAF and PrimaLuceLab Sesto Senso 2 and 3.
