Because there is no need to synchronize the dome flap with the telescope, clamshell domes are the choice of professional astronomers for tracking satellites, space debris, or quick sky surveys.
The construction of the dome provides protection for the telescope from weather conditions. The fast drive of the flaps allows for almost immediate commencement of observations. A special feature of the dome is the possibility of opening only selected flaps, which provides additional protection for the telescope from strong winds.
All manufactured domes are assembled at the factory and then disassembled and prepared for transport. • diameter: 3 m • height: 3.1 m • dome weight: approx. 300 kg • number of flaps: 3 • flap opening time: 80 s • drive: six 250W motors • automation: ScopeDome Arduino Card • software: ScopeDome Arduino Driver, ASCOM, Windows 10 • equipment container: 77 x 35 cm • door: 77 x 59 cm • dedicated telescope: PlaneWave CDK 700 or smaller determined individually, depending on the specifics of the dome installation location We can deliver the dome within approximately 14 days of placing the order The dome and control system are covered by a 1 (one) year warranty
