Tri-Bathinov Artesky

The Bathinov mask is very useful in astrophotography as it allows you to understand when the ideal focus for the instrument has been reached.

Bathinov masks can be used on all instruments without exception, the main thing is to choose the right diameter.

The variable measurement is to be considered in millimetres for the diameter of the external tube, we have a tolerance of approximately 20mm, however we recommend purchasing the mask with the most correct diameter possible.

This new variant, the Tri-Bathinov is a modernized mask that allows for even more precise focusing using 18 lines of reference.

How does it work?

Each mask comes with three locking screws, operation is very easy, just place the mask in front of the telescope aperture and point at a bright star.

On your computer monitor or SLR camera you will see a double X with several lines running through it.

If the central lines at the Xs are shifted to the right or left from the center, you are in intra or extra focal, so you need to correct the focus.

When the lines are perfectly centered on the Xs, the image is in focus!
