Fujinon S12X40 DN ECHO Plus ZG0655B is a professional day/night binocular combining 12x optics, mechanical gyroscopic stabilization and interchangeable night-vision eyepieces with ECHO Plus image intensifier tubes. Its construction was developed for observation from moving boats, vehicles and other unstable platforms.
The 40 mm objective lenses and Fujinon EBC multi-coatings provide high light transmission, contrast and detail visibility. In the daytime configuration, the binocular offers a field of view of 82 m at 1000 m, a 3.3 mm exit pupil and 17 mm eye relief.
After fitting the night-vision eyepieces, the device enables observation after dusk and at night. ECHO Plus tubes are a high-performance version of the commercial ECHO technology, providing a FOM of at least 2000, high resolution and fast Auto-Gating. Automatic gating helps maintain a clear image during sudden changes in light intensity and reduces the influence of bright light sources on observation.
The built-in high-speed gyroscopic system uses mechanical stabilization in a gimbal construction and compensates for movement within a range of ±5°. This provides a steadier image during handheld observation or use aboard a vessel or moving vehicle.
The sealed housing is filled with dry nitrogen to reduce the risk of internal fogging. Its construction is corrosion resistant, operates at temperatures from -20°C to +50°C and withstands immersion to a depth of 2 m for 5 minutes. The binocular can be powered by four AA batteries, one 2CR5 battery or an external power source through a DC regulator.
