Sky Rover Optics 1x Field Flattener for 115APO

The Sky Rover Optics 1x is a dedicated field flattener designed for astrophotography with the Sky Rover 115APO refractor. Its purpose is to correct the field curvature produced by the telescope's optical system, allowing stars to remain better defined near the edges of the frame.

The 1x optical factor means that the flattener does not shorten the telescope's focal length or change its focal ratio or image scale. It allows the refractor's nominal parameters to be retained while increasing the usable, corrected area of the frame. The design is intended for full-frame photography.

The telescope side of the corrector is equipped with an M63 × 1 thread, while the camera side features an M48 × 0.75 thread. The threaded connections provide rigid and repeatable installation of the photographic train components.

The required back focus is 55 mm. This means that the sensor surface should be positioned exactly 55 mm from the rear reference plane of the M48 connection. When calculating this distance, the length of adapters, spacer rings and the T-ring, as well as the camera's own back focus, must be taken into account.

The removable rear adapter section facilitates the construction of a more extensive photographic train incorporating an off-axis guider, filter wheel and CCD or CMOS camera. A 2" astronomical filter can also be installed inside the corrector.

Key features

• dedicated to the Sky Rover 115APO refractor

• 1x optical factor – no focal-length reduction
• retains the telescope's nominal focal ratio and image scale
• design intended for full-frame photography
• M63 × 1 telescope-side thread
• M48 × 0.75 camera-side thread
• required back focus of 55 mm
• compatible with an off-axis guider and filter wheel
• permits internal installation of a 2" filter
• net weight of 280 g

Package contents

• Sky Rover Optics 1x field flattener for 115APO – 1 pc.

Technical specifications

• manufacturer: Sky Rover Optics
• model: 1X for 115APO
• type: field curvature corrector / field flattener
• intended use: astrophotography
• compatibility: Sky Rover 115APO refractor
• optical factor: 1x
• change in telescope focal length: none
• change in telescope focal ratio: none
• supported sensor format: full frame
• telescope-side connection: M63 × 1
• camera-side connection: M48 × 0.75
