Astronomik UHC Clip-Filter EOS M (Astronomik, SKU: 10204085 / 8h00r8) is a versatile Ultra High Contrast (UHC) filter designed for deep-sky astrophotography. It provides very high transmission of the OIII and H-beta lines while effectively blocking stray light and emissions caused by light pollution.
The filter significantly improves the contrast of gaseous and planetary nebulae against the sky background under both urban and dark sky conditions. Compared to many competing filters, it reveals more stars and finer structural details while maintaining excellent sharpness and optical quality.
• high transmission of OIII (496 nm and 501 nm) and H-beta (486 nm)
• enhanced contrast of emission and planetary nebulae
• effective blocking of sodium (Na), mercury (Hg) lamp emissions and natural airglow
• bandwidth (FWHM): 25 nm
• transmission range: 480–505 nm and above 645 nm
• usable with focal ratios from f/3 to f/15
• Clip-Filter version for Canon EOS M
• parfocal with other Astronomik filters
• diffraction-limited design
• Astronomik MFR coating providing excellent out-of-band suppression and no halos
• imaging of Jupiter cloud structures
• improved separation of double stars
• 1.25" and 2" versions can also be used for visual observation
• Astronomik UHC-E – better suited for comet photography or lower light pollution
• Astronomik CLS or CLS CCD – recommended for galaxy and Milky Way imaging under moderate light pollution (CLS CCD includes integrated IR blocking)
• CMOS and CCD: good for emission nebulae, requires additional IR-block filter
• DSLR (original): good for emission nebulae, shifted color balance but strongly increased contrast
• DSLR (astro-modified): very good for emission nebulae with good color balance
• DSLR (MC-modified): very good for emission nebulae, requires additional IR-block filter
• typical transmission: 95% at 486 nm (H-beta)
• typical transmission: 95% at 496 nm and 501 nm (OIII)
• typical transmission: 95% at 656 nm (H-alpha)
• bandwidth: 25 nm
• transmission range: 480–505 nm and above 645 nm
• glass thickness: 1 mm
• finely polished optical glass free from streaks and stress
• resistant to humidity and aging effects
• supplied in a durable protective filter box
Each filter undergoes strict quality control before shipment, ensuring maximum contrast, excellent sharpness and absence of reflections even with bright objects in the field of view.
