Astronomik ProPlanet 742 Clip-Filter EOS APS-C (Astronomik, SKU: 10201100) is a long-pass filter for near-infrared imaging, with a passband starting at 742 nm. In lunar and planetary photography it records wavelengths less affected by atmospheric turbulence than shorter wavelengths.
This version is designed for EOS APS-C DSLR cameras. It does not work with original Canon EF-S lenses and does not replace the Clip-Filter versions made for EOS M or EOS R cameras.
Infrared photography requires the camera to be sensitive in this region; the standard built-in IR-blocking filter may prevent useful recording.
• records near-infrared images
• reduces the effects of seeing in lunar and planetary photography
• enables daylight IR photography with a suitably modified camera
• installation in front of the sensor without tools or permanent body modification
• durable coatings resistant to scratches and moisture

Infrared recording helps reveal lunar and planetary detail when seeing is less favourable.
