The Baader Solar Continuum 7.5nm 2" 540nm is a specialized narrowband filter designed to improve contrast in monochromatic astrophotography and visual observations. The Baader Solar Continuum filter's passband ranges from 535 to 545 nm with a maximum at 540 nm. It is this wavelength that is the reference point by which the optical systems of most telescopes available on the market are optimized. Thanks to the effective cut-out of the remaining spectral range and a very good match to the characteristics of CMOS sensors, the Baader Solar Continuum 7.5 nm 2" 540 nm filter allows you to achieve the highest possible level of contrast and detail. The best results are obtained when using the filter with achromatic telescopes, which, however, does not preclude its use with apochromats or catadioptric and mirror instruments. Attention! The Baader Solar Continuum 7.5 nm 2" 540 nm filter is not eye protection for visual observations of the Sun. Solar observations require the use of dedicated accessories, such as Herschel's wedge, dedicated solar foils, etc.
