Photos from description

Askar 65PHQ 65/416 f/6.4 apochromatic flat-field astrograph (Askar, SKU: 65PHQ) is a compact refractor for astrophotography and visual observing. Its air-spaced, five-element optical system includes two ED glass elements to reduce chromatic aberration. The integrated field-correcting optics provide a 44 mm image circle suitable for full-frame cameras, without requiring a separate field flattener at the native focal length.

The 2.5" dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser provides coarse focusing and 1:10 fine adjustment. A graduated 360° rotator allows the camera orientation to be adjusted, while the supplied photographic adapters offer threaded connections for different imaging setups. The retractable dew shield, CNC-machined tube rings and 300 mm Vixen-style dovetail plate make the telescope practical for a portable setup. It can also be used with compatible 1.25" and 2" visual accessories.

Key features

• five-element apochromatic optical system with two low-dispersion ED elements
• integrated field correction, with no separate flattener required at the native focal length

• compatible visual accessory sizes: 1.25" and 2"
• mount attachment: Vixen-style dovetail plate, 300 mm long
• overall length with the three-piece photographic adapter set: 360 mm with the dew shield retracted; 420 mm with the dew shield extended
• overall length with the 1.25" eyepiece holder: 328 mm with the dew shield retracted; 388 mm with the dew shield extended
• optical tube weight: 2 kg
• total weight including tube rings and dovetail plate: 2.8 kg
• warranty: 24 months

The accessory lengths listed above describe the available space with the focuser fully retracted; they are not fixed camera spacing requirements for an external field flattener. At its native focal length, the 65PHQ uses its integrated field correction, and the imaging train must fit within the available space and reach focus. Diagonals, eyepieces, cameras and filters are selected separately.
