The EDG 8x42 is one of the flagship models of Nikon binoculars, which, thanks to the use of the latest optical technologies and the best available materials, offers flawlessly clear and detailed images.
The Nikon EDG 8x42 model is equipped with an optical system with 8x magnification and an apparent field of view of 56.6 °. These binoculars use roof prisms with phase correction, on which a dielectric coating of increased reflectivity has been applied. A feature that distinguishes the EDG 8x42 binoculars is an innovative approach to the selection of lens materials, which in this model are made of ecological glass, free from lead and arsenic admixtures. The set of lenses is also complemented by elements made of low-dispersion glass, which guarantees a faithful reproduction of colors. This instrument also has a built-in field curvature corrector, thanks to which the image obtained is equally sharp and full of detail both in the center and on the edge of the field of view.
The body of the binoculars is made of magnesium alloys, thanks to which it is characterized by increased resistance to mechanical damage while maintaining a low weight.
