Celestron EdgeHD XLT 9.25 "OTA optical tube

The innovative telescope of the Schmidt-Cassegrain system in the aplanatic version with a modified aspherical correction plate. The new technology, called EDGE-HD, allows to obtain a flat and defect-free field of view, ideal for astrophotographic purposes. In particular, the new system reduces the coma and improves the resolution at the edges of the field of view. The new system allows to obtain excellent results even in the case of large-format CCD cameras - correct images are obtained even for matrices with a diameter of 52 mm.

Compared to standard optical tubes, EDGE HD tubes have also a number of mechanical advantages. Improved, among others, the mounting of the main mirror eliminating the so-called mirror shift. In the rear part of the tube there are ventilation holes with special filters preventing dust from entering. All EDGE-HD telescopes are equipped with the Fastar system, which allows to place the camera directly in the primary focus of the telescope, with the light of the system equal to f / 2. The collimation procedure has also been simplified, which can now be performed with knobs without the use of tools.
