Fenix E18R is a compact everyday use flashlight with a powerful 750 lumen light output and the ability to recharge the battery via a magnetic USB port.
Fenix E18R is the "big brother" of the E16 model, which was very successful on the market due to its great functionality and ease of use.
The tube of the flashlight is made of anodized aviation aluminum, which guarantees high resistance to damage and solid construction. Thanks to the transverse knurling of the surface, the flashlight does not slip out of the hand, and its grip is clearly perceptible. The flashlight measures only 60 mm, weighs about 50 g with the battery, so it can constantly accompany us in our daily activities.
The light source is a new generation Cree XP-L HI diode, which emits a maximum light beam of 750 lumens at a distance of up to 136 m (parameters when powered by a 16340 battery). Neutral light color does not tire the eyes, provides more natural color rendering and better visibility of details. The flashlight uses a modified collimation lens with a thickness of only 3 mm and an orange peel reflector, which makes the light beam evenly dispersed and efficiently illuminates the area at a distance of up to 136 m, which is an excellent result for flashlights of such a small size.
The user has 4 constant light modes and a flash mode (strobe). All activities related to the operation of the flashlight, ie switching on, switching off and changing modes, are operated with one side button, made of stainless steel. Against accidental switching on of the flashlight during transport, it is protected by a double safety device, ie a button lock (activated by a quick double click) and a metal clip which, when turned, prevents the flashlight from being activated.
Fenix E18R can be powered by a disposable CR123 battery or a rechargeable 16340 battery, which provides better lighting parameters and minimizes the costs associated with the operation of the flashlight.
A big innovation is the possibility of charging the battery (without removing the flashlight) using the USB port and the magnetic cable. As soon as the magnetic cable is brought closer to the socket, the plug is automatically plugged into the port. Such a solution is very convenient, it protects the port and the cable against mechanical damage (tearing) and excludes the necessity to check each time whether the plug is properly connected.
Thanks to the use of a clip, the flashlight can be easily attached to a belt, backpack, and also to the peak of the cap as an improvised headlamp. The functionality of the device is increased by a built-in magnet in the back, which allows the flashlight to be attached to steel elements. As a result, our hands remain free, enabling us to perform other activities that require the use of two hands.
The E18R flashlight also has a LED battery level indicator, protection against overheating and reverse polarity. The flashlight has a high IP68 protection class, so it is resistant to full immersion in water to a depth of 2 m and a fall from a height of 1 m.
