The Nikon WX is a series of professional astronomical binoculars which, thanks to the use of advanced low-dispersion optics in combination with a built-in field corrector, are characterized by excellent image sharpness and a practically imperceptible level of chromatic aberration.
The Nikon WX 10x50 IF model is equipped with an optical system with a sevenfold magnification and an apparent field of view of 76.4 °. Each of the tubes contains three elements made of low-dispersion glass (ED) and an Abbe-Koenig prism with phase coatings applied, and each element was additionally covered with a full multi-layer anti-reflective coating. This type of construction, combined with the field curvature corrector, makes the image obtained is extremely bright, sharp and high-contrast.
The binoculars are equipped with a light and durable body made of magnesium alloy.
