A clay lens filter for observing the Sun. It offers more natural colors and better contrast than solar foils, and at the same time is much more durable. The filter passes only a small fraction of the incident beam, ensuring safe observation. It is impervious to infrared (IR) and ultraviolet (UV).

The filter holder is made of aluminum.
