A frequent problem faced by owners of catadioptric telescopes (Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Cassegrain) is a very long process of thermal adaptation, caused by the closed structure of the tube. In practice, cooling down the optics may take up to several hours, leaving very little time for observation or collection of photographic material.
The best way to overcome this inconvenience and shorten the time needed to equalize the mirror temperatures is to use active cooling. The Asterion Cooler CAT cooling unit was designed specifically for lens-mirror instruments. It is equipped with a fan forcing air into the interior of the telescope with a tube, distributing it evenly over all surfaces.
To prevent dust and dirt from being pumped in, the fan is equipped with a double filter to trap solid particles. • compatible with Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes equipped with a 1.25 or 2 "cutout • double filter to prevent blowing in dust and dust particles • possibility of precise adjustment of the length of the cooling tube to the dimensions of the tube • compatible optical systems: Schmidt-Cassegrain, Maksutov-Cassegrain • mirror size: 8 "- 16" • adapter for extractors: 1.25 "/ 2" • minimum diameter of the hole in the main mirror: 27 mm • diameter of the cooling tube: 25 mm • dust filter: double • power supply: 12 V, 1A • power connection: jack, 2.1 x 5.5 mm • weight: 0.8 kg • dimensions of the package: 67 x 16 x 10 cm • Asterion Cooler CAT cooling unit • Allen key • documentation
