One of the biggest obstacles in observing the night sky is its brightening by artificial lighting such as the light of a lamppost. This limits the possibility of observing objects outside our solar system. The CLS filter works on the one hand to block mercury and sodium lamps and other emission lines from natural and artificial light sources contributing to the night sky lighting, and on the other hand to pass other, more useful long Waves.

CLS Explore Scientific's high-speed filters are high performance Light Pollution filters that use the so-called emission nebulae. These objects emit specific colors of the so-called emission lines. These lines depend on the chemical composition of the objects. CLS Explore Scientific nebular filters pass three nebulizer lines: a double ionized oxygen line (496 and 501 nm), an H-beta hydrogen line (486 nm) and a deep red band of the H-alpha line (656 nm). They also use the fact that artificial lighting emits beams of light with special characteristics and colors, blocking these colors, raising the contrast of light emitted by the objects of the night sky. The filter band in this region has a transmission of over 90%.

As a result, they allow you to see objects that were previously invisible. For example, in suburban areas, the large galaxy M101 or NGC 6992 or even the bright Dumbell M27 nebula are not well visible. Thanks to the use of filters, it is possible to see these nebulae and the details of their structure.

Explore Scientific nebular filters have an individual test certificate, which is your guarantee that you will receive a high-quality product.

The most important features

• broadband filter
• blocks the entire spectrum of light except the spectral line O-III, H-beta and H-alpha
• suitable for both visual observations and photography with CCD cameras
• 1.25 "luminaire
