The Maksutov - Newton telescope is a Newtonian telescope with a parabolic mirror and an additional meniscus lens in the front part of the tube, which largely eliminates the spherical aberration of the main mirror. Newton modified in this way is appreciated by astronomers also because of the significantly reduced coma, astigmatism and curvature of the image in relation to the traditional mirror system.
Maksutow - Newton is also an excellent and much cheaper alternative to apochromatic systems. It is also an irreplaceable instrument for taking pictures characterized by high contrast, good edge sharpness and a flat field. The light factor of 5 allows you to take good pictures with short exposure times.
Low-profile 2" diameter Crayford focuser eliminates image vignetting, and the dual focusing system with a 1:10 ratio allows for perfect sharpening of the image.
The use of a resistant and lightweight carbon fiber with excellent thermal characteristics in the construction of the tube makes the changes of its dimensions independent of the current ambient conditions. | • Optical system: | Maksutov-Newtonian catadioptric | | • Main mirror diameter: | 152mm | | • Focal length of the optical system: | 731mm | | • Lightbeams: | f/4.8 | | • Resolution: | 0.77'' | | • Secondary mirror: | φ = 49 mm, obstruction 32% | | • Theoretical range: | 13.4 mag | | • Length of the optical tube: | 696mm | | • Tube diameter: | 180mm | | • Libra: | 7 kg (without packaging) |
