Bresser Messier MC-100/1400 OTA (Bresser, SKU: 4810140) is a Maksutov–Cassegrain optical tube with a 100 mm aperture and 1400 mm focal length (f/14). The Bresser MC-100/1400 serves as a lightweight, portable planetary telescope, perfect for balcony or travel use. With very high contrast and virtually no chromatic aberration, it delivers sharp and detailed images of bright celestial targets. The relatively small focal ratio and long focal length make it especially suitable for Solar System observations, even under light-polluted urban skies where faint nebulae and galaxies are harder to observe.
The Maksutov–Cassegrain optical system is among the most respected telescope designs for its compact structure, ease of use, and versatility. It employs a meniscus corrector plate, a primary mirror, and a secondary mirror mounted on the inner surface of the meniscus, minimizing coma and chromatic aberration. This design provides exceptionally sharp images across the entire field of view.
