The T-2 adapter is used for attaching all kinds of lenses and devices with T-mount (microscopes, telescopes, manual lenses) for cameras with E-mount.
The adapter is mounted on the Sony NEX camera bayonet in a similar way in which the lenses are mounted. Then the lens with the T-mount is screwed into the adapter's thread.
Sharpness and aperture (in most lenses) are set manually on the lens, while the exposure time can be set in the camera manually (in manual mode) or automatically (in the Av mode) depending on the camera model. • compatibility: Sony Alpha NEX-3, NEX-5 and newer

Note : in most Sony cameras, to enable working with this ring, it is not enough to switch to the M (manual) trim, but in the menu select the option to enable / disable the shutter / without the lens attached (name this option depends on the camera version and the translator). Popularly this mode of operation is described as a "double manual".
