The Sky Rover Optics 1x Field Flattener for the 72 ED APO is designed for astrophotography with the Sky Rover 72ED APO telescope. Its purpose is to correct field curvature without changing the focal length of the telescope, allowing sharp stars across the entire image frame. The flattener connects to the telescope via a threaded interface and works together with the image field rotator (CAA) at the end of the focuser, allowing convenient framing without rotating the entire optical tube.
