The Oberwerk 100XL-SD is a high-end giant binocular equipped with premium FCD100 SD APO 100 mm apochromatic objectives, delivering images completely free from chromatic aberration even at high magnifications. Despite its large aperture, the instrument remains surprisingly portable thanks to its lightweight magnesium-alloy body, which is fully waterproof and nitrogen-purged.
With a weight of only 5.67 kg, the 100XL-SD combines the optical power of large objectives with a design that is still convenient to transport. The included 14 mm Oberwerk eyepieces (8-element, 70° AFOV) provide 40× magnification and a 1.75° true field of view. A 2.5 mm exit pupil and 18 mm eye relief ensure comfortable use, even for observers wearing glasses.
Standard 1.25″ helical focusers allow the use of virtually any astronomical eyepiece. With 7 mm eyepieces, magnification can be increased to 80× while maintaining exceptional image quality.
