FocusCube v3 Universal (PegasusAstro, SKU: PEG-FC3-UNIV) is a modern, universal motor focuser designed for fast, precise, and repeatable focusing in contemporary astrophotography setups. It has been developed to meet the demands of fast optical systems and modern cameras, where focus accuracy and stability are critical.
The high-resolution stepper motor combined with a geared reduction system delivers high torque with very low backlash. FocusCube v3 can reliably handle imaging trains weighing up to 6 kg, even when the telescope is pointing at the zenith. The minimized backlash ensures accurate and repeatable V-curves during autofocus routines.
An adjustable universal L-bracket allows FocusCube v3 to be mounted on a wide range of telescope focusers. The package includes five solid motor couplers with bore diameters ranging from 4 mm to 8 mm, ensuring compatibility with most focusers available on the market. The bracket design enables precise alignment of the motor with the focuser shaft.
The device is powered and controlled via a single USB-C cable. In addition, FocusCube v3 features built-in Wi-Fi, supporting both access point and 2.4 GHz client modes. This allows simultaneous USB and Wi-Fi operation, including direct control through a web browser by entering focuscube3.local.
FocusCube v3 supports automated focusing with temperature compensation. A digital temperature sensor is included, enabling real-time monitoring of environmental changes and corresponding focus adjustments. The focuser supports ASCOM, ASCOM Alpaca, and INDI and integrates seamlessly with popular astrophotography software platforms.
