The ZWO AM3N mount is an upgraded version of the popular AM3 model, designed for even greater convenience and reliability in field astrophotography. Like its predecessor, it can operate in both equatorial (EQ) and alt-azimuth (AZ) modes, offering high tracking precision thanks to its harmonic drive system and NEMA 35 stepper motors. In the AM3N version, the manufacturer introduced several practical improvements: integrated 12V and USB-C power ports in the dovetail saddle (reducing the risk of cable snagging), an extended operating temperature range (down to –20°C), and a magnetic holder for an M6 hex key. The head weighs 4.1 kg and provides a payload capacity of up to 8 kg without a counterweight or 13 kg with a counterweight.

Note: the mount’s body is labelled “AM3”; the “N” designation does not appear in the printed name on the device and is used only in the SKU. Additionally, due to a manufacturer packaging error, the first production batches were delivered in color boxes showing AM3 specifications instead of AM3N.
