The CGX-L series telescopes are equipped with the excellent Celestron CGX-L equatorial mount, which is an improved version of the CGX mount. Here you will find Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes with 9.25", 11" and 14" apertures and an advanced Rowe-Ackerman astrograph with an 11" aperture. The highest class CGX-L 1100 HD telescope in the Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system equipped with excellent StarBright XLT optical coatings and a computerized CGX-L equatorial mount. A Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope with a diameter of 279mm (11") and a focal length of 2800mm. Despite the large aperture, this telescope is quite compact and its usability is high. When equipped with a T-Adapter and T-Ring, the tube can be used as an efficient astrograph. The Schmidt system telescope is a device with a universal light intensity and a large focal length. A great advantage of such a telescope is the possibility of significantly extending the focus outside the tube, which allows the use of elements with a large optical path - binocular attachments, filter wheels, flip-mirror attachments, focal length reducers, etc. An innovative Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope in an aplanatic version with a modified aspherical correction plate and modern StarBright XLT coatings. The new technology, designated as EDGE-HD, allows for obtaining a flat and defect-free field of view, ideal for astrophotography. The new system in particular reduces coma and improves resolution at the edge of the field of view. This technology allows for obtaining excellent results even in the case of large-format CCD cameras - correct images are obtained even for matrices with a diagonal of 52 mm. Compared to standard optical tubes, EDGE HD tubes also have a number of mechanical improvements. Among others, the mounting of the main mirror has been improved, eliminating the so-called mirror shift (mirror wobble).
The rear part of the tube has ventilation holes with special filters that prevent dust from entering the tube. In addition, these holes accelerate the process of equalizing the temperature inside the tube with the ambient temperature, which is of paramount importance for the quality of the image obtained. All EDGE-HD telescopes are equipped with the Fastar system, which allows the CCD camera to be placed directly in the primary focus of the telescope. The collimation procedure has also been simplified, which can now be performed with knobs without the use of tools. This is a development of the Celestron CGX mount - the successor to the proven Celestron CGEM mount. Increased load capacity to as much as 34 kg with a head weight of 21 kg, a powerful tripod with 70 mm diameter stainless steel legs, a right ascension axis worm with a diameter of as much as 144 mm, a 270 mm long Vixen / Losmandy standard saddle, or a massive counterweight rod with a diameter of 31.5 mm are impressive. The standard equipment includes a drive with a gear ratio using a belt, optical and mechanical limiters, start position markers and as many as 4 AUX ports. • telescope optical system: Schmidt-Cassegrain • type of mounting: parallactic • aperture: 279 mm • focal length: 2800 mm • aperture: f/10.0 • star range: 14.8 magnitude • maximum usable magnification: 558x • maximum resolving power (Rayleigh): 0.51" • maximum resolving power (Dawes): 0.42" • aggregate capacity: 1589x • tube weight: 13.0 kg • assembly weight: 44.8 kg • counterweights: 2 x 10 kg • total weight: 78 kg • tube length: 610 mm • tube diameter: 312 mm • tripod type: steel 2.75" • stand height: 152 - 196 cm • assembly control: NexStar Go-To • type of eyepiece: SCT/MAK • Focuser diameter: 2" • Secondary mirror diameter: 95 mm • central obstruction: 34% • coatings: StarBright XLT
