The sensor allows CelestronSmart DewHeater Controllers (sold separately) to work with other manufacturers' heaters. The 6' cable allows for easy management.

By placing the sensor tip under any manufacturer's heater band and connecting it to the appropriate port, the Celestron Smart DewHeater Controller will be able to manage the power supplied to that heater to utilize the energy most efficiently.

A thermistor is not required when using Celestron Dew Heaters as they already have a built-in sensor.
