The Player One UV PASS E-Series 1.25″ filter (SKU: POA-UV125E) transmits only the near ultraviolet band of 320–390 nm, strongly attenuating visible and infrared light. It allows for exceptionally sharp, high-contrast recording of the lunar surface and bright planets (Venus, Mercury, Mars) using UV-sensitive cameras such as the Player One Neptune-M or Mercury-M. In the UV band, atmospheric turbulence is smaller and the wavelength is shorter, which translates into extremely fine image details.

Key Features of the UV PASS E-Series Filter

• transmission >80% in the range 320–390 nm (peak ~360 nm)
• <0.1% blockage over the entire 400–1100 nm range – reducing noise and reflections from the visible/IR band
• hard-coated coatings – increased resistance to scratches and moisture
• λ/4 optical glass, parallel ≤30″ – no wavefront degradation even with large apertures
• 1.25" thin aluminum frame with M28.5 × 0.6 thread – compatible with filter wheels, FD MINI drawer and 1.25" eyepieces

Technical specification

• Diameter/frame: 1.25″ (M28.5 × 0.6), ring height 5 mm
• substrate: 2 mm optical glass
• transmission band (T>80%): 320–390 nm
• band lock: <0.1% @ 400–1100 nm
• coatings: dielectric, multilayer, double-sided, hard-coated
• flatness: λ/4 (632.8 nm)
• clear diameter: 26 mm
• weight: 9 g

The UV PASS filter is a great addition to the planetary set, allowing you to record absorption bands of SO2 and ozone on Venus or subtle details of solar activity (with appropriate ERF filters). Used with Player One monochrome cameras, it enhances the contrast of small structures visible only in the ultraviolet.
