Artesky ERF 80 mm is an Energy Rejection Filter designed to limit the amount of solar radiation reaching the interior of the telescope. Its use significantly reduces the risk of overheating of the H-alpha filter standard and minimizes convection phenomena in the tube. The ERF filter mounted at the front of the telescope effectively reflects visible light and radiation in the range from 300 to 1100 nm, passing only a 60 nm wide band around the H-alpha wavelength (656.28 nm). This keeps the temperature inside the telescope close to the ambient temperature and eliminates image distortions caused by temperature differences. The dielectric coatings of the filter are applied with the highest precision, which prevents deformation of the optical surface and allows to maintain full resolution of the telescope. The optical glass used in the product is characterized by high uniformity and quality of surface finish in accordance with the requirements for lenses. The ERF filter must always be used as a pre-filter in a set with an H-alpha filter (e.g. Daystar). It must not be used alone for visual observations - it may cause permanent damage to the eyesight. The filter should be mounted at the front of the telescope, with the coated surface facing the Sun (indicated by the arrow on the edge). • dedicated energy rejection filter for solar observations • only transmits the 60 nm band around H-alpha (656.28 nm) • high-quality optical glass with a homogeneous structure • surface accuracy ensuring no image distortion • reduction of heating and turbulence inside the telescope tube • dielectric coatings applied with advanced technology • works only with H-alpha filters – not for standalone use • frameless version – for installation in your own cell • ERF filter with a diameter of 80 mm (without frame)
