Herschel Prism 31.8mm

The Artesky Herschel prism body is made entirely of black anodized aluminum with vents in the rear to dissipate heat produced by solar observation.

The prism is made of high quality glass and allows for detailed images of the solar photosphere; combined with a good refractor it allows for seeing sunspots, faculae and solar granulation.

Inside the Artesky prism is mounted a green-coated filter that guarantees optimal contrast between 510 and 550nm on the Sun.

A light diaphragm system is mounted on the front which allows you to adjust the amount of light that is allowed to pass inside the Herschel prism.

The 31.8mm eyepiece holder also comes with a T2 thread for connecting cameras.

Also included in the box is a polarizing filter and a small ring with M36x0.75 thread.

Usage tips

We remind you that the Herschel prism is the best and safest instrument for observing the Sun in white light but it can only be used with refractors.

We recommend this product for refractors up to 130mm, beyond this diameter it is preferable to choose the 2" models or diaphragm the instrument frontally.

Front diaphragm

Thanks to the metal front diaphragm, it is possible to adjust the intensity of the light that passes through the prism, thus increasing the contrast on the final image.
