The William Optics MiniCat 51 WIFD is a compact, very high-brightness telescope designed for wide-field astrophotography enthusiasts.

The heart of this telescope is a six-element optics with a light intensity of f/3.5 made in the Petzval system. A characteristic feature of this model is the use of two Super ED glass lenses, which makes the image obtained of impeccable quality both in the center and on the edge of the field of view, while at the same time perfectly correcting chromatic aberration.

This telescope complements the William Optics range of instruments equipped with the WIFD ( William Optics Internal Focus Design ) focuser with internal focusing. This patented solution allows maintaining perfect linearity even when large SLRs or heavy astronomical cameras are installed, thus minimizing the risk of unwanted vignetting to zero. The focuser is also compatible with the WO EAF automatic focusing system.

The telescope tube is mounted on a precisely made mount, equipped with a Vixen socket for mounting a finder or guider.
