The Herschel TS-Optics 1.25 "wedge is a specialized accessory dedicated to solar observations with the use of refractors.

The wedge is equipped with a high-quality interference filter that blocks approximately 99 percent of the sunlight and thus enables safe observation of the sun's disk. In addition to the basic filter, the set also includes a polarizing filter that allows to obtain a much better contrast than in the case of using standard filters mounted on the telescope lens.

The wedge casing is designed in such a way as to best reflect the heat accumulating in it to the environment.

Attention! Observing the sun is always associated with the risk of irreversible damage to eyesight. Before each use of the wedge, check the condition of the filters and the correctness of their mounting, and in the event of any irregularities, discontinue observation.
