The dome is made of a 6 mm thick polyester-glass laminate, which provides full resistance to weather conditions, while guaranteeing high durability and aesthetics. Additionally, it is reinforced with embossments placed on the outside of the sphere and special reinforcements embedded inside the structure.

The dome consists of 9 basic elements, which greatly facilitates assembly on tall buildings and transport.

The tightness of the dome is guaranteed by a special construction of the connections of the elements, preventing water from getting inside the sphere. A large gap at the base and the light color of the coating prevent excessive heating of the dome. A large, one-meter-wide, lockable observation window embedded in the outline of the sphere allows for free observations, both visual and with the help of telescopes with a diameter of up to 150 cm.

The observation window was designed so that the telescope would have a free view of the zenith. The rotation of the dome is provided by a track placed in the base of the ball, it rolls on it guided by a set of 24 plastic rollers.

The dome drive consists of two medium-power motors powered by 220V mains. One is used to control the rotation of the dome, the other allows the opening and closing of the observation window shutter. An encoder placed on the perimeter of the dome, working with a dedicated controller, continuously measures the position of the dome and corrects the operation of the motors according to the position of the telescope.
