Orion O-III 1.25" is a professional astrophotographic filter that transmits light with a wavelength of 495.9 and 500.7 nm emitted by ionized oxygen atoms, the registration of which is particularly important when photographing emission nebulae.
This filter combines the ability to almost completely eliminate the undesirable components coming from sodium and mercury lamps with high transmittance for the O-III spectral line, one of the most important from the point of view of astrophotography. It is made on a high-quality glass substrate enclosed in a metal frame with a double mounting thread.
Attention! The O-III filter is not recommended for solar observations. • bandpass filter with maximum transmission for radiation with a wavelength of 495.9 and 500.7 nm • high-quality optical glass substrate • high ability to cut out light pollution • recommended for use in visual observations with telescopes with an aperture of 8" and larger • filter type: band filter • Filter diameter: 1.25" • filter shape: round • passed bands: O-III (495.9; 500.7 nm) • maximum transmission: 90% for lines 495.9 and 500.7 • blocked bands of light pollution: mercury lamps (435.8 nm, 546.1 nm, 577 nm, 578.1 nm), sodium lamps (598 nm, 589.6 nm, 615.4 nm, 616.1 nm) • Orion O-III 1.25" filter 12 months
