The Bresser Messier AR-102XS (SKU: 4802460) is a compact and very bright OTA with a 102mm objective lens diameter and 460mm focal length (f/4.5), built around an ED doublet made of low-dispersion glass. High-quality multilayer coatings ensure excellent light transmission and minimal chromatic aberration. Thanks to its short focal length, this model is excellent for wide-field observations – open clusters, nebulae, and the Milky Way – and with the use of a solar filter, it also allows for safe observation of the Sun.
Equipped with a precision, metal Hexafoc 2.5-inch focuser with a 63mm free passage, the tube ensures very rigid guidance of accessories and smooth, flex-free focusing. The 2-inch to 1.25-inch reduction tube has an integrated T2 thread, allowing for easy camera connection. The kit includes a 6x30 optical finder scope with a crosshair, a 26mm SPL eyepiece, a 90° angle adapter, a solar filter, and Stellarium software (available for download). The tube is made of aluminum and terminates with a Vixen dovetail with a steel mounting surface.
