Svbony SA207 ED APO 8x32 binoculars are a compact roof-prism model designed for birdwatching, wildlife observation, landscape viewing, sporting events and observing the night sky. They combine an apochromatic optical system, a wide 8.12° field of view and a lightweight magnesium-alloy body.
Extra-low-dispersion ED glass is used in the objective system, while the eyepiece design incorporates lanthanum glass. This combination effectively reduces chromatic aberration and unwanted color fringing, improving detail sharpness, contrast and color reproduction accuracy.
The wide-angle construction with field-flattening correction provides a real field of view of 8.12°, corresponding to approximately 143 m at 1000 m. The image retains good sharpness from the center toward the edge, making it easier to find objects and track birds or other moving subjects.
The BaK-4 roof prisms feature phase-correction and dielectric coatings, while the lenses are treated with full broadband multi-coatings. According to the manufacturer, the optical system achieves 90% light transmission. The external optical surfaces also have a hydrophobic and oleophobic coating that reduces the adhesion of water, fingerprints and dirt.
Eye relief of 19 mm and continuously adjustable twist-up eyecups provide comfortable observation both with and without corrective glasses. The soft silicone eyecup covers can be removed and washed. The central focusing mechanism works with an internal focusing system, while the minimum focusing distance of approximately 1.5 m allows close observation of insects, plants and other small objects.
The magnesium-alloy body is nitrogen filled and protected against water in accordance with the IPX7 rating. This protects the optical system against rain, moisture and internal fogging. The binoculars weigh 557 g, making them well suited to hiking and extended observation sessions. They can also be mounted on a tripod using a suitable adapter.
