Photos from description

Player One OAG MAX (Player One Astronomy, SKU: POA-OAG-MAX) is an off-axis guider designed for imaging trains using Player One cooled cameras from the Artemis, Poseidon and Zeus series. The prism picks off light from the edge of the optical path and directs it to the guide camera, allowing guiding through the telescope optics without a separate guide scope. Its optical length of 17.5 mm makes it easier to maintain the required backfocus when used with the Filter Drawer MAX or a Phoenix filter wheel.

Key features

• 8 × 14 mm prism with proportions close to 16:9, designed for use with guide cameras equipped with larger sensors
• shorter prism dimension of 8 mm allows it to be positioned close to the optical axis and direct more light to the guide camera
• design tested by the manufacturer with the Xena-M guide camera without visible vignetting of its sensor
• 1.25" helical focuser and M42 × 0.75 thread enable precise focusing of the guide camera
• adjustable prism position with a locking screw
• interchangeable front plates with M48 × 0.75 and M54 × 0.75 connections and the option to use the supplied M42 × 0.75 adapter
• screw connection to the Filter Drawer MAX and Phoenix Wheel 7 × 36 mm, 5 × 2" and 7 × 2" filter wheels

Set contents

• OAG MAX with 1.25" helical focuser and M48 front plate
• interchangeable M54 front plate
• M48M–M42F adapter with an optical length of 0 mm
• set of thumb screws
• set of M2.5 screws
• screwdriver

Technical specifications

• type: off-axis guider
• supported main camera series: Player One Artemis, Poseidon and Zeus
• prism dimensions: 8 × 14 mm
• optical length: 17.5 mm
• body outer diameter: 80 mm
• guide camera connection: 1.25" helical focuser and M42 × 0.75 thread
• telescope-side connections: M48 × 0.75 or M54 × 0.75, depending on the installed front plate; M42 × 0.75 through the M48M–M42F adapter
• optional telescope-side connection: M68 × 1 female thread through the M68-RING adapter, not included
• main camera-side connection: screw mounting to the Filter Drawer MAX or a compatible Phoenix filter wheel
• body material: 6061-T6 aluminium

OAG MAX enables guiding through the same optical path as the main camera, while its short optical length and interchangeable connections make it easier to integrate the guider into an advanced astrophotography setup.
