The Kowa TSN-99A Prominar 30 - 70x telescope with the TE-11WZ II wide-angle eyepiece is a professional set designed for the most demanding users. Thanks to the use of the best currently available materials, this product is characterized by a unique image quality and very high durability.
The spotting scope uses the highest quality optical system made of fluorite and low-dispersion Kowa XD ™ glass. Fluorite, which occurs naturally in the vicinity of hydrothermal veins and in igneous rocks, is characterized by an extremely low refraction index (n = 1.4), unattainable even for the best types of optical glass. Due to this unique feature of fluorite, lenses made of it allow to obtain an image almost free from chromatic aberration, ensuring perfect color reproduction as well as excellent contrast. The material used for the production of the Kowa TSN-99A Prominar telescope is synthetic fluorite, which, unlike the naturally occurring mineral, is free from rare earth contamination, giving a greenish or purple color. The disadvantage of fluorite compared to optical glass is its extremely difficult processing. Calcium fluoride single crystals have a tendency to chipping, which is why the Kowa company had to develop a unique technology for grinding and polishing lenses made of this material over the years, which led to the production of optical instruments unmatched in terms of image quality.
In order to further improve the image quality, fluorite lenses have been covered with a full multi-layer anti-reflective coating, resulting in a sharp and clear image even in poor lighting conditions. The whole structure is closed in a sealed and nitrogen-filled casing, which means that the equipment is not afraid of difficult weather conditions, such as rain, snow or low temperatures. • the optical system made of low-dispersion glass and pure fluorite covered with a full multilayer coating ensures excellent image quality and faithful color reproduction • external lenses additionally covered with a dirt and scratch-resistant KR ™ coating developed by Kowa • TE-11WZ II wide-angle eyepiece placed at an angle, facilitating the observation of objects high above the horizon • double focusing mechanism for coarse and fine adjustment • construction: angular telescope • magnification: 30 - 70x • Objective diameter: 99 mm • Filter diameter: 105 mm • material of the optical system: crystalline fluorite, Kowa XD ™ low-dispersion glass • optical system coating: full anti-reflective multilayer coating, Kowa KR ™ coating • prism construction: porro prism • field of view: 35 - 20 m @ 1000 m • offset of the exit pupil: 17 mm • output diameter: 3.3 - 1.4 mm • minimum observation distance: 6 m • relative brightness: 10.9 - 2.0 • twilight efficiency: 51.4 - 78.6 • focus adjustment mechanism: double (coarse / fine) • inert gas charge: yes, nitrogen • water resistance: yes • eyepiece: replaceable, TE-11WZ II (included) • tripod thread: yes, 1/4 - 20, 3/8 - 16 • length: 378 mm • weight: 1810 g • Kowa TSN-99A Prominar 30 - 70x scope • TE-11WZ II wide-angle eyepiece • lens cap • optics cleaning cloth 10 years -
