SVBONY S-II 2" SV160 7 nm is a professional astrophotographic filter with a half-transmittance window (FWHM) of 7 nm. It transmits light with wavelengths of 671.6 nm and 672.4 nm characteristic for ionized sulfur atoms, the registration of which is particularly important when photographing emission nebulae.
This filter combines the ability to almost completely eliminate the unwanted component coming from sodium and mercury lamps with high transmittance for the S-II spectral line, one of the most important from the point of view of astrophotography . It was made on a high-quality Schott optical glass substrate, additionally secured with a multi-layer coating applied in the process of ion-assisted deposition. Thanks to this technology, the obtained coating effectively stabilizes the position of the maximum permeability band, and also has a protective function due to increased resistance to scratches.
Attention! The S-II filter is not recommended for visual observation or solar observation. • a bandpass filter made on a high-quality glass substrate, allowing the S-II band lines to pass through • filter covered with a full coating with increased scratch resistance • Half Bandwidth (FWHM) of 7 nm • high ability to cut light pollution • filter type: bandpass filter • substrate: Schott glass • Filter diameter: 2" • filter thickness: 1.85 mm • filter shape: round • pass bands: S-II (671.6 nm; 672.4 nm) • half bandwidth (FWHM): 7 nm • maximum transmission for the S-II band: 80% • blocked light pollution bands: mercury lamps 0.1% of transmission for 435 and 578 nm lines; sodium lamps 0.1% transmission for 589 nm lines • infrared cut-off: 700 - 1100 nm • filter coating: multi-layer coating (MC) • SVBONY S-II 2" SV160 7 nm filter 12 months
