Astronomik CLS-CCD EOS Clip is a high-quality light pollution filter designed for Canon EOS cameras with APS-C sensors. It enhances the visibility of deep-sky objects even under urban skies by blocking emissions from sodium and mercury vapor lamps as well as atmospheric glow. At the same time, it transmits the key nebular emission lines (H-β, O-III, H-α), ensuring natural color balance and high contrast between celestial objects and the sky background.
The Astronomik CLS-CCD filter is ideal for astrophotography of nebulae, star clusters, and galaxies when using telescopes or photo lenses with focal ratios from f/2 to f/15. It allows exposure times up to three times longer before the sky background becomes overexposed. The CCD version includes an integrated IR-blocking layer, eliminating the need for an additional infrared filter. High transmission (up to 97%) at emission wavelengths guarantees bright and natural object rendering.
The EOS Clip mounting system allows quick installation of the filter directly into the camera body. It requires no camera modification and does not interfere with autofocus, image stabilization, or LiveView functions. The filter is made of black anodized aluminum, precisely laser-cut for a perfect fit. The construction also serves as a dust shield, protecting the sensor during long exposures. All Astronomik filters are parfocal with one another (except the XT series) and are resistant to moisture, aging, and scratches.
