Fenix PD40R V3.0 LED Flashlight is a modern EDC flashlight featuring a maximum output of 3000 lumens, a mechanical rotary switch, fast USB-C charging, a battery level indicator and a high-capacity 21700 battery (5000 mAh). The new Version 3.0 delivers even better performance – the beam distance has been increased to 500 meters. The flashlight also includes an SOS mode transmitting an emergency Morse signal.
The body is made from A6061-T6 anodized aircraft-grade aluminum, offering durability and low weight. The cross-hatched knurling prevents slipping and improves grip.
The raised strike bezel protects the lens in case of accidental drops or placing the flashlight on uneven surfaces.
Measuring only 138 mm and weighing less than 200 g (with the 21700 battery), the PD40R V3.0 is suitable for camping, hiking, hunting or everyday carry.
A removable stainless-steel clip allows secure attachment to a belt, backpack or pocket.
With the tail switch removed in this version, the flashlight now supports “candle mode”, enabling vertical standing and diffused illumination of tents or rooms.
The flashlight uses a Luminus SST70 LED, delivering a maximum output of 3000 lumens and a beam distance of up to 405 m. The neutral-white tint reduces eye strain and improves color accuracy.
Anti-reflective coated glass and a smooth reflector ensure effective illumination at long distances while maintaining a wide and uniform beam pattern.
The flashlight offers four constant-output modes (low, medium, high, turbo) and two flashing modes (strobe and SOS). The simplified interface makes operation intuitive. The turbo mode provides 3000 lumens for up to 160 minutes, while the low mode (30 lumens) runs for almost four days.
Mode selection is handled by a mechanical rotary switch. It operates smoothly, is reliable, and can be used even with gloves. The switch does not interfere with magnetic fields.
The PD40R V3.0 is powered by a 21700 battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh. This cell offers almost twice the runtime of standard 18650 batteries.
With the included ALF-18 adapter, the flashlight can also be powered by 18650 batteries.
A built-in indicator displays the remaining battery level for three seconds after switching the flashlight on:
– green constant: 100–85%
– green flashing: 85–50%
– red constant: 50–25%
– red flashing: 25–1%
Fenix PD40R V3.0 features an integrated USB-C charging port. The 5000 mAh battery charges in approximately 3.5 hours. The port is protected with a rubber cover and supports charging from a power bank.
The flashlight includes several protection systems: low-voltage warning, reverse-polarity protection and intelligent overheat protection.
The IP68 rating ensures resistance to dust and full submersion (2 m for 30 minutes). Impact resistance is rated at 1 meter.
