The Pulsar Trail XQ50 thermal imager is the successor to the Pulsar Apex thermal imaging device, with a completely redesigned structure based on new components. extremely efficient and uncompromising device designed to work in all conditions, in fog, rain, snow and smoke, also in conditions of short immersion under water, e.g. when crossing a river. Trail is designed to instantly detect live targets within the field of view that emit long-wave thermal radiation that is invisible to conventional night vision. It is a technologically advanced device that is incomparably more effective than a night vision device, because it does not need external light or a built-in illuminator to work efficiently. The new Pulsar Trail thermal imagers are made using the recently available, uncooled thermal sensor in 17 micrometer technology.

Question : What is the difference between a night vision device and a thermal imager?
