Celestron aluminum dew shield with dust cover fits all 11" EdgeHD, RASA, and Celestron Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes (manufactured after 2006).

This is a highly useful accessory that protects the tube in the field. The dew shield reduces the rate of radiative cooling of the Schmidt corrective lens plate relative to the night sky, keeping the lens below the dew point longer and preventing dew from forming on it. In other words, the dew shield slows the release of heat from the corrector to the environment during nighttime drops in temperature.

The aluminum dew shield is perfectly blackened, it also increases the contrast of the image by blocking side stray light, which translates into better images and photographs. The base of the dew shield has an organizer for cables, for example when using the Fastar/Hyperstar system or in combination with the Heater for SCT. The dust cover prevents dirt from settling when you are not using the telescope.
