SESTO SENSO 2 – Robotic Focus Drive (PrimaLuceLab, SKU: SESTOSENSOII) is the second generation of the popular focuser that turns almost any Micro-25 mm or 31.8 mm focuser into a precise, remote-controlled device. The built-in stepper motor with absolute encoder provides a resolution of up to 0.7 µm per step, and thanks to USB-C and Wi-Fi interfaces it can be controlled from a computer, smartphone (Virtual HandPad) or directly from the EAGLE/ECCO control module. The metal CNC housing and patented clamping ring guarantee a secure grip of the focuser shaft without clamping screws and slippage.
• Step resolution ≤0.7 µm – ideal for high resolution astrophotography
• stepper motor 25,000 steps/rev, absolute encoder – no position loss after restart
• universal clamping ring Ø25 mm (sleeve Ø31.8 mm included) – assembly without tools
• interfaces: USB-C 3.0, Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz (AP / STA), 3.5 mm temperature sensor socket
• operation in PLAY, ASCOM, INDI, Virtual HandPad application (iOS/Android) and buttons on the housing
• Smart Jog mode: gentle rotation of the motor “knob” allows manual focusing
• 12 V DC power supply – current consumption <1 A, cable with cigarette lighter plug included
• AUX port for direct control of the ARCO 2″/3″ rotator without additional cables
• load capacity up to 5 kg (on ESATTO lift ball guides) and 3 kg on a typical Crayford
• SESTO SENSO 2 drive with clamping ring Ø25 mm
• adapter sleeve Ø31.8 mm
• USB-C → USB-A cable (1.8 m)
• 12 V power cable with cigarette lighter plug (1.8 m)
• 2mm Allen screwdriver
• quick start guide
• Focuser compatibility: Ø25 mm shaft (most MicroFocusers SCT, R&P, Crayford); with Ø31.8 mm sleeve
• minimum step: 0.7 µm (at 1:10 extraction)
• operating temperature range: –20 … +60°C
• communication interface: USB-C 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (AP / Client)
• power supply: 12 V DC ±10%, consumption <1 A
• dimensions: 87 × 60 × 43 mm
• weight: 380 g
• additional ports: AUX (ARCO), TEMP (NTC 10 kΩ)
• manufacturer: PrimaLuceLab – Italy
SESTO SENSO 2 takes focusing to a new level: forget about touch shake, gain automatic autofocus algorithms in PLAY/ASCOM and the ability to compensate for thermal drift using an optional temperature sensor. One device - full control over focus in every astrophotography set.
