Flatmaster Neo 120 mm (PegasusAstro, SKU: PEG-FLTMSTR120-NEO) is an automated retractable LED flat-field panel designed for telescopes and lenses with apertures up to 120 mm. It provides a uniform and stable illumination source for acquiring high-quality flat frames in astrophotography and photometric applications, helping to correct vignetting and optical non-uniformities.
The dimmable LED panel offers precise brightness control from 0 to 100%, allowing accurate matching to different filters and optical configurations. Brightness levels can be stored per filter and instantly recalled during subsequent calibration sessions. Flatmaster Neo delivers very high maximum brightness, supporting short flat exposures (typically 2–3 seconds at f/7) even when using 3 nm narrowband filters.
A built-in servo-driven retractable lid operates between 0° and 270°, serving both as an automated flat-field shutter and as a protective cover against dust and moisture when not in use. The maximum opening angle can be software-limited to avoid mechanical collisions. A dedicated silicone flange ensures a light-tight and dust-proof seal around the telescope or lens aperture.
Flatmaster Neo integrates a dew heater, temperature and humidity sensors, and a light sensor. The dew heater automatically adjusts its power based on the calculated dew point to keep the panel surface dry and free from condensation. The light sensor enables automatic lid closure at sunrise. Power and control are provided via a single USB-C cable, while Wi-Fi connectivity and a built-in web dashboard allow standalone operation without a PC if required.
