Artesky eADC V3 Sunobserver electronic atmospheric dispersion corrector (Artesky, SKU: eADC-V3) is a third-generation corrector designed for visual observing and astrophotography. Its four prisms in two groups compensate for the separation of image colour components caused by the atmosphere, which is particularly noticeable when observing objects low above the horizon. The Zero Image Shift design is intended to prevent image displacement as the correction is adjusted.
Once the compensation coefficient has been set initially, the eADC uses its built-in accelerometer to adjust the correction automatically as the object's altitude and the telescope's orientation change, including after an equatorial mount's meridian flip. The device can be operated without a computer using its rotary encoder and display, or via USB using Windows software.
• automatic adjustment of dispersion correction after initial setup
• optical design with Zero Image Shift to limit changes in image position during adjustment
• four prisms in two groups, made from CDGM F4 and H-ZK9B glass
• anti-reflection AR coatings covering 350–700 nm
• accelerometer-based orientation detection, including after a meridian flip
• standalone operation using a rotary encoder with a push button and a display for reading settings
• computer control and operating parameter readout through Windows software
• correction direction adjustment (tilt) to help reduce horizontal separation of colour components
• initial adjustment can be assisted by the ADC Alignment tools in SharpCap 4.0 or later and ASICAP

For faster optical systems, such as f/7, f/5 or f/4, the manufacturer recommends placing a focal extender before the eADC to reduce additional aberrations. The camera sensor should also not be placed too close to the prisms. In mode 0, any diagonal should be positioned after the corrector, on the eyepiece side.
At object altitudes below approximately 10°, the available correction range may be insufficient. Above approximately 82°, the manufacturer recommends removing the eADC from the optical train, as the corrector may then introduce additional colour separation.
The Artesky eADC V3 Sunobserver helps maintain the selected dispersion correction as the observed object's position changes, reducing the need for manual adjustment during an observing or imaging session.
