ZWO ASI183MM Pro is a monochrome camera with thermoelectric cooling and a Sony IMX183CLK-J matrix with a resolution of 20 Mpix. Thanks to the use of DDR3 cache with a capacity of 256 MB, data transfer is more stable and the amp-glow effect is minimized, especially when using the USB 2.0 port. The camera is suitable for both deep sky astrophotography (DSO) and fast imaging of the Moon and planets.
The back-illuminated sensor offers high sensitivity and low readout noise (1.6e at 30 dB gain), as well as very small pixels (2.4µm), which makes it easy to capture details even at very short focal lengths. The camera requires an external power supply of 11-14 V to operate, regardless of the use of cooling. Another design advantage is the integrated USB 3.0 port and a USB 2.0 hub for additional accessories. • matrix: 1" CMOS IMX183CLK-J (Sony, monochrome, BSI, rolling shutter) • resolution: 20 Mpix, 5496 × 3672 • single pixel size: 2.4µm • matrix diagonal: 15.86 mm • exposure time: 32µs – 2000 s • transfer speed (max.): 19 fps (5496×3672, 12 bit) • read noise: 1.6e at 30 dB gain • depth of potential well: 15 ke • QE peak: 84% • dynamics: 12 steps (gain 0) • ADC converter: 12 bit • Cache: 256MB DDR3 • data interface: USB 3.0 / USB 2.0 • telescope connector: M42 × 0.75 / 2" / 1.25" • back focus : 6.5 mm (without T2 11 mm adapter) • cooling: ΔT = 40–45°C relative to ambient temperature (TEC, two-stage) • window protection: yes, AR layer • dimensions: φ 78 mm • weight: 410 g • operating temperature range: -5°C to +45°C • storage temperature range: -20°C to +60°C • working humidity: 20–80% • storage humidity: 20–95%
