The ZWO Nikon – EFW adapter allows direct connection of Nikon camera lenses to ZWO 2-inch electronic filter wheels (EFW). The adapter is designed exclusively for 2" EFW models with an M54 × 0.75 interface and is not compatible with 1.25", 31 mm, or 36 mm filter wheels.

Compatibility and application

This adapter enables the use of Nikon photographic lenses in astrophotography setups based on ZWO ASI cameras and 2-inch EFW filter wheels. The M54 × 0.75 connection limits its use to 2" filter wheels only, ensuring a sufficient clear aperture and minimizing the risk of vignetting when working with larger sensors.

Installation

Before installing the adapter, the factory-installed sensor tilt adapter must be removed from the ZWO ASI camera. The camera is then mounted directly to the 2" EFW. The Nikon lens adapter is attached to the rear cover of the filter wheel, after which the Nikon lens can be connected directly to the camera and filter wheel assembly.

Important note

The adapter is intended exclusively for ZWO 2" EFW filter wheels. It is not compatible with 1.25", 31 mm, or 36 mm EFW models. When disassembling the filter wheel carousel, the central screw must not be removed or adjusted, as this may permanently damage the filter wheel mechanism.
