The Oberwerk 20×65 ED Deluxe is the modern successor to the legendary Takahashi 22×60 Fluorite, discontinued more than 15 years ago and now nearly impossible to find. This contemporary Oberwerk design preserves the key strengths of the classic fluorite binoculars while offering wider fields, improved usability, and exceptional performance at a far more accessible price.
Thanks to low-dispersion ED objectives, the 20×65 ED delivers razor-sharp images across the entire field, with pinpoint star images and virtually no chromatic aberration. Unlike the original Takahashi, which had a narrow 45° AFOV, the Oberwerk offers a wide 65° apparent field, providing a truly immersive viewing experience for both astronomy and long-distance terrestrial observing.
All air-to-glass surfaces are fully broadband multi-coated, and the waterproof, nitrogen-filled body ensures reliability in varying conditions. Individual-focus eyepieces allow precise optical adjustment, while the integrated balanced mounting system enables direct attachment to a tripod head.
