Sky Rover Optics 126 MA

The Sky Rover Optics 126 MA Multipurpose Astrograph is a versatile refractor designed for both advanced astrophotography and visual observations. Its 126 mm aperture, 882 mm focal length and f/7 focal ratio provide a combination of high resolution, effective aberration control and relatively forgiving focusing requirements.

The optical system consists of four air-spaced elements. The front group is a triplet objective containing two ED glass elements, while the fourth internal element acts as a field corrector. This integrated design provides a native flat field with a 44 mm image circle suitable for full-frame sensors.

When imaging at prime focus, the telescope does not require an additional field flattener or adjustment of a critical distance between a separate corrector and the sensor. The manufacturer publishes spot diagrams covering an image height of up to 21.6 mm, including the corners of a full-frame sensor. A separately available 0.8× reducer shortens the focal length to 705.6 mm and increases the focal ratio to f/5.6.

The 126 MA is equipped with a precision 3.2" Rack & Pinion focuser with a dual-speed reduction mechanism and an effective travel of 85.5 mm. The integrated CAA camera angle adjuster makes it easier to rotate the imaging train and compose the frame. M63 × 1, M54 × 0.75, M48 × 0.75 and 2" interfaces support a variety of imaging and visual configurations.

The optical tube is CNC machined from aluminium alloy. Its interior incorporates an integrated system of knife-edge baffles that reduces stray light. The mechanical design includes a retractable dew shield with adjustable resistance, two tube rings, a Vixen-standard mounting plate, a multifunctional handle and a finder base.

The 0.8× reducer, camera, mount, finder, diagonal and eyepieces are not included with SKU 95126. The manufacturer assigns the separate SKU 95126-1 to the 126MA package containing the reducer.
