Photos from description

Sky-Watcher N-152/1200 DOBSON 6" telescope (Dob 6" Classic 150P) (Sky-Watcher, SKU: SW-1301) is a Newtonian reflector telescope with a 152 mm aperture and a focal length of 1200 mm, mounted on an easy-to-use Dobsonian base. The instrument is designed for observing the Moon, planets, double and multiple stars, star clusters, nebulae and brighter galaxies.

Under favourable conditions, the telescope allows you to observe craters and other details on the lunar surface, Jupiter's cloud belts and four brightest moons, Saturn's rings together with the Cassini Division, the phases of the inner planets, the polar caps of Mars during favourable oppositions, as well as the discs of Uranus and Neptune. Numerous asteroids, variable stars and periodically appearing comets are also within its reach.

The 152 mm aperture provides good conditions for observing open and globular clusters, nebulae and brighter galaxies. Using a suitable nebula filter can additionally increase the contrast of selected emission nebulae, particularly when observing from locations affected by artificial light.

The telescope also performs well when observing the Moon. Near the full Moon, it is worth using a neutral-density lunar filter to reduce image brightness and improve observing comfort. The mirror, with a diameter of slightly more than 15 cm, collects approximately 470 times more light than the human eye.

The 1200 mm focal length and f/8 focal ratio make it easier to achieve high magnifications useful for observing the Moon, planets and double stars. The telescope is equipped with a 2" Crayford focuser with a 1.25" adapter and T2 thread, as well as a 6 × 30 finderscope.

The Dobsonian mount is a simple alt-azimuth design intended primarily for visual observations. It is operated manually in two axes: azimuth, meaning horizontally, and altitude, meaning vertically.

The optical tube measures approximately 112 × 18 cm and weighs 6 kg, while the mount weighs 8 kg. In addition to astronomical observations, the telescope can be used for observing and photographing aircraft at cruising altitudes.
