Photos from description

Sky-Watcher N-254/1200 SYNTA 10" DOBSON Pyrex telescope (Dob 10" Classic 250P) (Sky-Watcher, SKU: SW-1303) is a large Newtonian reflector telescope with a 254 mm aperture and a focal length of 1200 mm, mounted on a stable Dobsonian base. The large mirror diameter makes the instrument particularly suitable for visual observations of deep-sky objects, while also allowing detailed observations of the Moon and planets.

The telescope allows you to observe open and globular clusters, nebulae, galaxies and supernova remnants. Under dark skies, all Messier objects and numerous objects from the NGC and IC catalogues are within the instrument's reach. The level of visible detail depends on observing conditions, collimation accuracy and the degree of light pollution.

Within the Solar System, the telescope allows you to observe details on the lunar surface, the phases of Mercury and Venus, the polar caps and basic surface features of Mars, Jupiter's atmospheric belts, transits of its moons, Saturn's rings with the Cassini Division, as well as the discs of Uranus and Neptune. Near the full Moon, it is worth using an optional neutral-density lunar filter to reduce image brightness and improve observing comfort.

The 254 mm mirror collects approximately 1317 times more light than the human eye and around 56% more light than a 203 mm mirror. This makes it possible to see fainter objects and more easily identify details in clusters, nebulae and brighter galaxies.

The primary mirror is made of Pyrex borosilicate glass with a low coefficient of thermal expansion. This material limits changes in the shape of the mirror as the temperature changes, helping to maintain stable optical performance.

The f/4.8 focal ratio is well suited to observations of extended deep-sky objects. The telescope is equipped with a 2" Crayford focuser with adapters for 2" and 1.25" accessories, as well as a 9 × 50 optical finderscope with crosshairs.

The Dobsonian mount is a simple alt-azimuth design intended primarily for visual observations. It is operated manually in two axes: azimuth, meaning horizontally, and altitude, meaning vertically.
